Strategies: the write tools

When you grant it write access, a connected AI assistant can build and adjust your repricing strategies in plain language — create a new one, or update an existing one. Here are the two write tools for Strategies, and the safety notes around them.

2 write tools Changes your repricingApplies directly

New here? Start with Connect an AI assistant to Flashpricer (MCP). Just want to inspect strategies? See Strategies: the read tools.

!

These tools change your repricing setup. They need the Strategies · manage permission — which the assistant only has if you approved it when connecting. There's no separate confirm step: the change applies when the tool runs, so agree on the plan first. Best practice — the assistant checks get-strategy-capabilities before creating and get-strategy-details before updating, so it only proposes what your plan allows and you can see exactly what changes.

The write tools

create-strategyWritestrategies · manage

Creates a new repricing strategy from a full configuration.

Config: name, marketplace (Amazon / Walmart), region, target (B2C / B2B), the repricing_strategy rules (custom or AI), the minmax_strategy, and optional B2B quantity pricing. First: the assistant runs the capabilities check so the strategy fits your plan.
Ask"Create an aggressive competition-based strategy for my Amazon US FBA items."
update-strategyWritestrategies · manage

Updates an existing strategy — change the name, repricing rules, min/max, or B2B pricing.

Rules: marketplace, region and target are always required (keep the current values if you're not changing them). Changing marketplace / region / target is blocked if items are already assigned to the strategy. First: the assistant pulls the current config so you both see what will change.
Ask"Make my 'Aggressive FBA' strategy a bit less aggressive — raise the floor by $1."

Working safely

  • Review before applying. These tools apply directly, so ask to see the plan first — the assistant shows the config it will create or the before → after it will change.
  • Some fields lock once in use. A strategy's marketplace, region and target can't change once items are assigned to it. To switch those, create a new strategy and move the items.
  • Capabilities are enforced. You can only create what your plan supports (marketplaces, targets, features like yo-yo repricing) — the assistant checks first so nothing is proposed that would be rejected.
  • Least privilege. Prefer read-only? Connect the assistant with Strategies · view and skip the manage permission — these two tools simply won't be available.
Build a strategy

With write access granted, try "Create a competition-based strategy targeting the Buy Box for my Amazon US items, then show me the config before saving." Just exploring? See the read tools. Questions? Reach us at success@flashpricer.com.
