Reports & exports: the write tools

When you grant it write access, a connected AI assistant can generate CSV exports and manage your recurring reports in plain language — request an export, schedule it, pause it, edit it or delete it. Here are the five write tools for Reports, and the safety notes around them.

5 write tools Creates & schedulesSome confirm first

New here? Start with Connect an AI assistant to Flashpricer (MCP). Just want to find and download exports? See Reports & exports: the read tools.

!

These tools create and manage exports. They need the Reports · manage permission. Creating, updating or deleting a scheduled report previews first and asks you to confirm; pausing / resuming one is direct and reversible; a one-off export just runs. Heads-up: creating, updating or resuming a scheduled report also runs it once immediately. Files are retrieved with the read tools — no email is sent.

Create a one-off export

create-reportWritereports · manage

Requests a new CSV export of your catalog, optionally filtered. It runs asynchronously — you get a report id, then download it with download-report.

Filters: searchTerm · filters (same set as search-items) · channelIds · strategyIds. All optional — omit them to export everything.
Ask"Export all my negative-profit FBA items to CSV."

Manage recurring reports

create-scheduled-reportWriteConfirmsreports · manage

Sets up a recurring CSV export that runs automatically — and runs it once right away.

Config: reportName · period (DAILY / WEEKLY / MONTHLY) · optional filters (searchTerm, filters, channelIds, strategyIds).
Ask"Set up a weekly export of my at-min items."
update-scheduled-reportWriteConfirmsreports · manage

Changes a scheduled report's name, cadence or filters. If it's active, this also re-runs it once.

Needs: the scheduled report id. Omit any field to leave it unchanged.
Ask"Change my weekly export to monthly."
set-scheduled-report-statusWritereports · manage

Pauses or resumes a scheduled report. Resuming runs it once immediately; pausing stops it until you resume.

Note: direct and fully reversible — no confirm step.
Ask"Pause my weekly export for now."
delete-scheduled-reportWriteConfirmsreports · manage

Deletes a scheduled report so it stops running.

Tip: if you just want to stop it temporarily, pause it instead (reversible).
Ask"Delete the monthly export I set up."

Working safely

  • You confirm the big changes. Creating, updating and deleting a scheduled report all preview first and wait for your yes.
  • Schedules run on save. Creating, updating or resuming a scheduled report triggers a run immediately — expect a fresh file right away.
  • Pause beats delete. To stop a report temporarily, pause it — it's reversible. Deleting is permanent.
  • Least privilege. Prefer read-only? Connect with Reports · view and skip the manage permission — these five tools simply won't be available.
Schedule a report

With write access granted, try "Create a weekly CSV export of my negative-profit items, then confirm it." Just downloading? See the read tools. Questions? Reach us at success@flashpricer.com.
