Integrate Finale Inventory with Flashpricer

Sync your product costs from Finale Inventory into Flashpricer automatically. Pick which Finale cost fields to use — with a fallback priority — and connect with either your Finale login or an API key. Flashpricer keeps your costs current on a schedule.

The Finale integration is a one-way cost sync: it reads your chosen cost fields from Finale and writes them onto your Flashpricer listings, matched by SKU. Nothing is ever sent back to Finale.

Before you start

  • ·A Flashpricer plan with cost integrations enabled.
  • ·A Finale Inventory account. API access is only needed if you choose the API Key method.
  • ·Your Flashpricer SKUs match your Finale SKUs — the sync pairs products by SKU.

Step 1 — Open Partner Integrations

Go to Settings → Integrations, click Connect Integration, then choose Partner Integrations. Find the Finale Inventory card and click Connect Now.

Step 2 — Fill in the connection form

The Sync items from Finale Inventory form has three parts: name it, choose your cost fields, and pick how to authenticate.

  • ·Name — a label for your own reference, e.g. Finale · Main Warehouse.
  • ·Account Name — the account in your Finale URL app.finaleinventory.com/account-name. Enter it exactly as it appears there — all lowercase, no spaces (e.g. Flashpricer Successflashpricersuccess).
  • ·Cost Fields — choose one or more. The order you add them is the fallback priority (see below).

Cost fields and fallback priority

Add the cost fields you want, in the order Flashpricer should try them. For each product, Flashpricer uses the first selected field that has a value greater than $0, then stops.

ProductBOM Estimated Average CostAverage CostItem CostCost used
Product A$10.50$9.00$8.00$10.50 (1st field)
Product B$8.00$5.00$8.00 (fell back)
Product C$5.00$5.00 (last resort)

Flashpricer takes the Finale value as-is — no averaging, rounding or overrides. It simply picks the first field in your priority list that has a real cost.

Authentication: Username/Password or API Key

Use the Authentication Method toggle to pick how Flashpricer connects:

  • ·Username / Password (default) — your regular Finale login. Nothing to set up in Finale.
  • ·API Key — enter a Finale API Key and API Secret (generate them in Finale under Settings → API Access). An API key can be revoked without changing your login password — handy for shared or tightly-governed accounts.

Switching the toggle to API Key swaps the two fields:

When everything's filled in, click Create Finale Integration. Flashpricer validates the credentials and runs a first sync immediately.

How the sync works

  • ·Cost only. Finale supplies your cost; your min, max and pricing strategy stay under your control in Flashpricer.
  • ·Automatic every 30 minutes. Flashpricer re-reads Finale on a schedule and only updates SKUs whose cost actually changed.
  • ·Costs you set by hand are safe. A cost you set manually (or via a bulk upload) takes precedence — the integration only replaces a cost that came from an integration.
  • ·No valid cost clears the field. If none of your selected fields has a value > $0 for a product, its cost, min and max are cleared so it won't reprice on stale numbers.
  • ·Active sales channels only. A listing has to sit on an active Amazon or Walmart sales channel in Flashpricer to receive updates.

Alerts

  • ·Unusual cost change. If a synced cost changes by more than 50% and more than $20, Flashpricer emails everyone in your organization so the change can be checked.
  • ·Authentication error. If the connection fails (e.g. a changed password on the Username/Password method), Flashpricer emails you to update the credentials.
  • ·Auto-disable. An integration with no successful sync for 5 days is disabled automatically to stop pointless API calls — fix the cause and reconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • ·Error status — check that your Finale credentials (login or API key/secret) are still valid and that you can log in to Finale directly. Hover the error badge for details.
  • ·Products not syncing — confirm the SKU matches exactly between Finale and Flashpricer, that your selected cost fields actually have values in Finale, and that the listing is on an active sales channel.
  • ·Costs look wrong — check your fallback order; Flashpricer uses the first selected field with a value > $0.
  • ·Too many products — the integration supports up to 1.5 million products. Above that you'll see a limit error — contact support.

Frequently asked

Which authentication method should I use?
Username / Password is the quickest — no setup in Finale. Choose API Key if you'd rather use revocable credentials that survive a password change (generate them in Finale under Settings → API Access).
Can I change the cost priority later?
The order you add the cost fields is the fallback priority. You can create the integration with whichever order suits you; to change it, recreate the integration with the fields in the new order.
Does it send anything back to Finale?
No — the integration is one-way. It only imports cost data from Finale into Flashpricer.
What if I change my Finale password?
On the Username / Password method, a password change breaks the connection — delete and recreate the integration with the new password. The API Key method isn't affected by password changes.
Can I connect more than one Finale account?
Yes — you can create multiple Finale integrations, for example for different accounts or different cost-field setups.
Does it sync min, max or price?
No — Finale syncs your cost only. See Integrations in Flashpricer for how cost feeds your pricing.
